How to obtain your Tax Overview Statement

If you’re getting a mortgage, it is likely your broker or bank will be asking for a ‘Tax Overview Statement’.  This is a particular document that is available only from HMRC’s website (we cannot produce this document for you alas).

How to obtain your Tax Overview

To find your tax overview statements, please do the following:

1. Log into your HMRC online account via online.hmrc.gov.uk

2. Select ‘Self Assessment’ (if prompted – if Self-Assessment is the only tax you are registered for, you will be taken straight there);

3. Click ‘View Account’ 

4. Select the appropriate tax year you require from the drop down box 

5. Scroll down and click on ‘Print your tax year overview’  

6. Select ‘Save as PDF’ 

7. Save to a folder
